Stretch marks are often the results of a sudden loss or gain of weight. Stretch marks are often triggered by rapid weight gain or loss, pregnancy or body building. Most people are unaware of the fact that this condition can also affect men. Around forty percent of the male population has stretch marks present on their body. Add to that all the women who live with this condition, I think it is fair to say that a very large number of people face this problem.

However, there are multiple ways that can contribute to prevent and eliminating stretch marks. With the latest advances in technology, there are many options available that work and are an easy option. Here are some options you might want to consider for removing stretch marks.

Smooth them Away

There are many products in the form of lotions and creams that are designed with the unique purpose to help users get rid of stretch marks. Especially when used in the early stages of the process, they can be very effective. From pregnant women to bodybuilder that would like to diminish the appearance of stretch marks on their body, solutions with vitamins A, C and E are very effective, especially when mixed with other minerals.

While vitamin E is very effective to reduce the appearance of stretch marks other vitamins and minerals represent an essential factor in maintaining the moisture balance and texture of the skin. Many studies indicates the use of cocoa butter and shea butter can also be used in getting rid of stretch marks. Keep in mind that the last two solutions can sometimes result in an allergic reaction in some people, caution is advises.

Laser Treatment and Abdominaplasty

Fully formed stretch marks can also be removed completely through a procedure known as abdominaplasty. Abdominaplasty requires a tummy tuck procedure which consist in removing the excess skin located around the stomach. Fat can also be removed from the area. Though it is an expensive and drastic surgical procedure, it is most effective in completely removing stretch marks from the abdomen region. It is only a quick and temporary solution.

Another treatment that is often used to get rid of stretch marks is laser therapy. Even though the results are not as good as the one you get with abdominoplasty, they are still quite good. It is less expensive but mostly a less invasive solution for getting rid of stretch marks.

Perfume Ingredients Can Cause Allergies

Perfumes and colognes form a very essential part of our lifestyle today. However, it is a sad fact that these fragrances have been found very much responsible for triggering off many types of skin allergies, ranging from the mild to the most severe ones.

Studies have shown Balsam of Peru, a very common ingredient in fragrances to be related to skin allergies. Also the Fragrance mix is considered to be one of the major causes of a skin allergy. For those who do not know fragrance mix is basically a group of the eight most common fragrance allergens found in foods, cosmetics, insecticides, antiseptics, soaps, perfumes and dental products.

Besides the ingredients itself, what is equally important is how you apply these perfumes. For instance, if there is some part of your body where your skin is more sensitive, you should be careful to avoid that point while applying a fragrance.

As always test every product carefully…and in an inconspicuous spot! If a rash develops only you will see.
