Whiteheads and Skin Care

Whiteheads are caused when the hardened sebum or oil accumulates in the skin. Since the clogged grease does not get oxidized due to exposure to air, the color doesn’t turn black.

The most common reason whiteheads or milia forms, is from heavy skin care products.

The formation of whiteheads or milia can also be due to excessive sun exposure. Aging skin forms a thicker epidermis that may make it far more difficult for skin cells to escape, and makes exfoliation of these cells more difficult.

If you happen to have whiteheads, you should immediately take to deep pore cleansing. Use a mixture of beauty grains and skin tonics to help you, since the gentle dermabrasive works softly on your skin and finally dislodges the whiteheads over a specific period of time.

Milia forms for several reasons. If whiteheads appear, take a look at your skin care routine. If you realize they are present due to your skin care regime, then treatment can begin. If the reason is due to outside factors, such as over exposure to the sun, hereditary, etc, then medical help may be required.

In addition, never try to remove whiteheads forcibly, even with a blackhead extractor. You might just end up scarring the skin in the process. In the case of milia, as they are also known, the pores are not open and hence, forcible removal will only add to the problem.

Not only is removing them painful but you could add to the problem by causing another infection to your skin. A proper skin care routine, cleansing, toning, exfoliating, and keeping your skin as clean as possible at all times, will help your skin banish whiteheads or milia.

If your condition is one you feel you cannot treat yourself then getting the help of a specialist is recommended. You do not have to suffer, there is help if you need it.

Skin Care Kit

Contents of a Good Skin Care Kit

A skin care kit is certainly something that will make you feel better if you are concerned about treating wrinkles and lines. There are many beautiful skin care kits on the market, but if you purchase one that contains the basics that is a good start. The kit usually contains a cleanser, toner and moisturizer. The advanced kits contain a night cream, eye cream, mask and facial scrub.

The advanced kit is certainly lovely to use as it is a pamper pack in one. If you buy a body cream and hand lotion you have the ultimate skin care pamper kit, add soothing bath oil and you will know what it feels like to be in heaven.

A skin care kit will effectively allow you to take good care of your skin. Exfoliation is one of the important factors in skin care and I personally like to look for a facial scrub in a skin care kit. A revitalizing eye lotion will provide the necessary ingredients for reducing puffiness and dark circles around the eye area. Your eyes are extremely vulnerable to fine lines and wrinkles. Specialized eye creams are designed for the delicate tissue around the eye area and they help diminish those tell tale age lines.

Depending on your skin type, your skin care kit will need to be compatible with your skin. There are many styles of skin care kits and many different price tags. The dearest one is not always the best one. Purchase a kit that feels nice on your skin. Some products smell beautiful and some do not. Some are expensive and some are not. Why buy an expensive one that smells awful, just because you think the price tag may indicate that it is a better product?

If you are to add any extra product to your skin care kit, I would strongly recommend a sunscreen. Today many moisturizing products contain sunscreen, and it is very important to reduce the effect of the suns rays on skin. Your skin is exposed to the elements every second of your life. Protecting it when in the sun is only going to prolong its youthful beauty, not to mention saving you from other possible sun/skin problems.
